Miriam (Miriam P. Rogers EdD, RN, AOCN, CNS)

Her accomplishments are are many. Currently she is the Director of Oncology Services (and APN in Oncology), Orthopedics, and Neurology at Wake Med in Raleigh, NC. She also speaks and write on cancer care topics(Cancer Nursing Enrichment). As a menber of ONS, she has participated in the developement of the Advanced Oncology Certification for Nurses (AOCN) test.

Her educational experience has been extensive. She was granted her bachelors in nursing from the East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, her masters in cancer nursing from Emory University and her doctorate in education from the North Carolina State in Raleigh. With all of this education, she has reason to have an opinion of most things.

Spinning, weaving, dying, and knitting of wool and other fibers.
Gardening - Roses, fruit trees, landscaping, etc
Orchids - no greenhouse now, but sunny windows will do.
Soap making - hey, it makes such great Christmas gifts! Or is it just another case of "craft making" out of control??

The other half of this entitiy, a mechanical engineer by schooling, he currently write product selection software for Square D Company.

Model trains - mainly N guage and G guage.
Home improvement - We are always in the process of remodeling/adding to the abode.
Computers - Being a semi-nerd and engineer, computers seem to find their natural niche.

Wally and Buster

Talk about cute! A couple of scottie pups joined our family in spring of 2003. The black one is named Wally(a black brindle) - born March 3, 2003. Don't let his visage fool you, every lick is followed by a nip with sharp little puppy teeth. Buster(a wheaton), was born March 30, 2003. What were we thinking - 2 pups? When they settle who's boss (still up for grabs), things will maybe settle down, but with Scots, it never really does. There is a neighborhood out there - and it needs taming. They seem to hide out most of the day, but occasionally you can see them in a frame or two. Buster leads the way, but both of them are in the thick of whatever mess has been created (like gardening!).

Remembering Toto We will always miss our Toto, 14 years of friendship - he raised the kids and saw to the household faithfully. There is nothing like the love of a dog.

Spread far and wide are the children. They are all busy discovering themselves. We hope this happens soon. Even us less younger folks still don't know what we will find around the next corner for ourselves!

Amanda - Amanda lives in Maryland and is a student at University of Maryland, College Park.. She married Randy Drago on February 14, 2003. They have one wonderful son - Randall.

Christopher - Christopher has as job in Maryland. He married Susan Labrin January 1, 2003. They have two wonderful girls - Julia and Jullian.

Lorin - Lorin graduated from East Carolina University in Geology and received the top Departmental award. She married Scott Wharton on May 18, 2002. They have two wondeful children - Ella and Samual.

Miri - Miri lives in Raleigh and currently engaged to be married. She has one wonderful son - Justin..
