Location
Lizard Lick is a small community located about 12 east of Raleigh. It is
about 3 miles north of Wendell and 3 miles west of Zebulon. In reality,
it is the crossroads of Lizard Lick Road and Highway 97.

In May of 1997, the state put in a traffic light in Lizard Lick. The News
and Observer was there to commerated the event and
published
an article on the event.

Lizard Lick has a unofficial population of 1300 people.

History
Connie B. Gay
Lizard Lick is the home of Connie B. Gay who is a member of the Country
Music Hall of Fame. He was born in Lizard Lick, N.C. on August 22, 1914
and died December 4, 1989. His love for country music and business foresige
made him a premier force in modern country music. His pioneer use of the
term "country music" and registered trademark "Town and Country" were insturmental
in bringing country music "uptown." He served as founding president of
the Country Music Associated and President of the country Music Foundation.
