The beginnings

Instead of building on the ground (one is not getting any younger), I decided to control my grade by building the outside 1:22.5 scale empire up on outside lumber.  I was able to control my grade so that the maximum grade is 2%.  The turns on either end are flat.
Here is the beginning of the work.  About half of the lumber is in place.  The half circle on this end has a 10 foot diameter.
