Here is the ET&WNC - Lizard Lick Branch during the dull times of
winter of 1998. I store my building during the winter in the shed
in the back.
The Lizard Lick branch of the ET&WNC is an oblong oval with about
150 feet of aluminum code 250 track. I am in the process of adding
some dual guage track for a connection with a standard guage railroad.
Here is one end of the empire. I use crushed red bricks available
from the local building supply stores for ballast. It is a product
that is readily available and is very southern in nature. It also
interlocks very well.
Here is the other end. I added this trestle the spring of 1999.
It had been an embankment. The trestle is about 16 feet long and
is modeled after the building practives of the DRG&W.
A little bit of a 'S' curve. Towards the top is the turnout going
into the station. It is in this area that a dual guage turnout will
be added for the interchange..
There is the local station and soon to be interchange. Currently,
all the tournouts are up and being modified. Instead of turning to
the right, the revised will be turn to the left. Actually, there
will be three tracks in front of the station, a straight through main line,
the first track to the left will be a dual guage passing track and the
second track to the left will be standard guage.
