The Tweetsie

1997 ET&WNC Historical Scociety Convention

In June 1997 I attended the annual convention by the ET&WNC Historical Scociety. It was held in Boone at the Tweetsie Railroad.  It was a three day experience of nothing but steam trains. The Tweetsie currently has two narrow gage steam locomotives. The oldest these is Number 12 from the ET&WNC rail road.
As part of the celebration, the Tweetsie put both their locomotives together as double header. Here is #12 leading the two.
Here is the second #?? 2-8-0 while part of the double header.
Just before pulling out of the station, here is #12 leading the double header.
Stoped to put on more coal, here is a front view of old #12.
#12 is seen crossing the tressle at the Tweetsie in one of the many run bys done that day.
Another view of the front of #12.
As seen from the side, #12 is moving right along.
